Mid-level to Senior About Acquisition Network Acquisition Network is the operating arm of a private acquisitions group that buys, builds, and scales US-based businesses. To date the firm has executed 350+ acquisitions, generated over $500M for partners and owners, and built a network of 550+ vetted operators, lenders, and capital partners. We work in the lower-middle market, focused on $1M+ EBITDA businesses across a range of industries. Job Summary We are hiring Acquisition Consultants to advise buyers through the full business acquisition lifecycle — from acquisition thesis through Letter of Intent (LOI), financing, due diligence, and close. This is a remote, contract role with uncapped commission and equity participation on every closed transaction. The Acquisition Consultant works directly with our internal M&A advisory team, lender pipeline, and legal and finance staff to move deals from sourcing to close. This role is well-suited for professionals with backgrounds in sales, finance, business brokerage, consulting, operations, or entrepreneurship who want hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions. Key Responsibilities Conduct buyer consultations to identify acquisition criteria, capital position, and target industries Develop acquisition theses in collaboration with the in-house M&A advisory team Source and evaluate target companies using our proprietary deal flow library and off-market pipeline Structure Letters of Intent (LOIs) and assist with deal terms, valuation discussions, and negotiation strategy Coordinate financing through established relationships with American Express, National Business Capital, and private capital partners Manage the buyer relationship throughout due diligence, working alongside legal and finance teams to drive deals to close Provide post-close transition support to ensure operational continuity for new owners Maintain a pipeline of qualified buyers and active opportunities Attend ongoing professional development sessions covering M&A, deal structuring, financing, and operational best practicesQualifications Required:
Operational US-based business entity in good standing (LLC or Corporation) Active US business bank account Minimum 10 hours per week available for client work and training Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfort running consultative sales calls with founders, investors, and business owners Self-directed work style with the ability to manage multiple deals concurrentlyPreferred:
Prior experience in sales, business development, finance, accounting, business brokerage, consulting, operations, or entrepreneurship Existing professional network of business owners, investors, or service professionals Familiarity with small business financing, SBA lending, or seller financing structuresNot Required:
No prior M&A or investment banking experience required No FINRA license or other professional license required No specific credit score required No personal capital required to deploy on deals Compensation and Benefits $12,500 cash commission per closed transaction 5% equity in each acquired company , paid out through ongoing cashflow distributions and exit events Transaction and advisory fees where applicable Uncapped earning potential — typical full-time consultant range is $250,000 to $500,000+ annually , with equity stakes accumulating over time Lifetime Acquisition Consultant license (one-time onboarding, no recurring fees) Credit-building program included through American Express Access to 11+ live expert sessions per month covering M&A, marketing, recruiting, and fundraising Direct access to our M&A advisory team, lender relationships, and legal and finance support Defined career advancement track into the Acquisition Entrepreneur role for consultants who meet ownership-stage qualifications Career Path Acquisition Consultant is a stepping-stone role with a clearly defined progression. Successful consultants graduate into the Acquisition Entrepreneur track once they meet the qualifying thresholds for assets, liquidity, and credit. Acquisition Entrepreneurs acquire $1M+ EBITDA businesses for their own portfolios, with the same team handling sourcing, structuring, financing, and post-acquisition operations. Many consultants build a portfolio of equity stakes through Phase 1 alone before transitioning into ownership.
