Director of Racquets The Grove Club | College Grove, Tennessee (Greater Nashville Area) Nestled just minutes from historic Franklin and a short drive from Nashville, The Grove is an exclusive 1,100-acre gated community and private club recognized for delivering exceptional member experiences, world-class amenities, and remarkable hospitality. We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and service-driven Director of Racquets to lead and elevate our tennis and pickleball programs while fostering a vibrant and engaging racquets culture for members of all ages and skill levels. This is an exceptional opportunity for a racquets professional who is passionate about teaching, program development, staff leadership, and creating unforgettable member experiences. Position Summary The Director of Racquets serves as the leader and ambassador of all racquets operations at The Grove. This individual will oversee tennis and pickleball programming, private instruction, clinics, leagues, tournaments, special events, junior development, staff leadership, facility operations, and member engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a dynamic professional with a proven ability to build successful programs, develop staff, cultivate member relationships, and deliver exceptional service consistent with The Grove's culture of Remarkable Hospitality. Key Responsibilities Member Experience & Hospitality
  • Deliver exceptional service and experiences for members and guests.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging racquets environment.
  • Build strong relationships with members across all skill levels and age groups.
  • Promote the Club's culture and values through every interaction.
  • Serve as the face and ambassador of the racquets program throughout the Club. Teaching & Instruction
  • Provide private, semi-private, and group instruction for tennis and pickleball players.
  • Teach fundamentals, advanced techniques, match strategy, footwork, and player development.
  • Lead clinics, camps, workshops, and specialty instructional programs.
  • Develop long-term pathways for junior and adult player advancement. Program Development
  • Design and grow innovative junior and adult racquets programming.

  • Round Robins
  • Social Mixers
  • Team Practices
  • NALTA and USTA League Programs
  • Beginner and Intermediate Development Programs
  • Continuously identify opportunities to increase participation and member engagement. Events & Tournament Management
  • Organize and execute club championships, member-guest events, tournaments, exhibitions, leagues, and special events.
  • Coordinate league participation and interclub competition.
  • Partner with other departments to deliver exceptional member experiences. Leadership & Staff Development
  • Recruit, train, mentor, schedule, and evaluate racquets staff.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and hospitality.
  • Lead by example through enthusiasm, service excellence, and operational leadership. Facility & Pro Shop Operations
  • Oversee daily racquets facility operations and court presentation.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules, repairs, and facility improvements.
  • Manage retail inventory, merchandising, and equipment purchases.
  • Provide racquet services including stringing, re-stringing, grip replacement, and equipment recommendations. Administrative & Financial Management
  • Manage court reservations, lesson schedules, and program registration systems.
  • Track participation, lesson revenue, and key department metrics.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for club leadership.
  • Promote racquets programming through marketing and member communications. Qualifications Required
  • USPTA, PTR, RSPA or equivalent professional certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of tennis teaching experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing junior and adult racquets programming.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Experience using court reservation and racquets management software.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain). Preferred
  • Private club or resort experience.
  • Experience managing both tennis and pickleball programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Business, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Competitive playing and coaching background.
  • Experience with budgeting, retail operations, and merchandising. What We Offer

Pay:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
