M&A Analyst:

As part of overall Univar Solutions strategic priorities, this role is responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of the organization's strategic growth program. Growth programs include merger and acquisition activities (including divestments) and key strategic programs including M&A target pipeline development. The position works closely with the VP of M&A and the Director in M&A based in Europe along with senior management and key line of business leaders to develop and analyze strategic opportunities utilizing financial and qualitative analysis to evaluate growth opportunities, providing business recommendations and advise, identification of risks and opportunities. This role requires strong analytical modeling skills, M&A project management experience, buyside due diligence expertise and a focus on deal tracking and pipeline development as well as post-closing transaction integration and monitoring.

What You'll Do:

Perform extensive financial/valuation analyses for acquisition targets.

Build advanced financial models to value potential and actual target opportunities, leveraging broad understanding of valuation and broad finance/accounting topics.

Lead due diligence, research, analysis and documentation of potential and active projects.

Actively participates in presentation development to highlight financial analysis and diligence findings.

Actively participate in project meetings with key stakeholders.

Identify improvements to processes and propose solutions to complete tasks more efficiently.

Advise and support deal teams in development, presentation and reporting out key project milestones.

Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including preparation of biweekly pipeline development.

Researches and analyzes company and industry financial and operating information.

Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and/or streamlined reporting.

Delivers financial modeling to support strategic recommendations to clients.

Thinks creatively and proposes new solutions.

Works mostly independently but comfortable asking for help.

What You'll Need:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field preferred; MBA preferred, including previous experience in finance, investment banking, consulting, transaction advisory, private equity and/or corporate development

Minimum of 3 years' experience within finance, investment banking, corporate development and/or private equity (or other comparable experience)

Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with demanding stakeholders.

Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to work collaboratively with internal and external constituents

Detail orientated and well organized

Strong excel modeling and presentation skills

Excellent mathematical, written and verbal communication skills

Experience working with diverse teams including managing teams during due diligence

Demonstrates sound judgment

Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix environment

Exhibited success working independently and with others with a customer service mind-set
