Job Description

Outside Sales Person Job Description:
Establishes initial contact with prospective customers and takes responsibility for identifying and developing new business opportunities. Develops and maintains customer contacts and solicits opportunities for additional company involvement. Provides follow up contacts to assure customer satisfaction and to provide required advice in various technical and product capability areas. Solicit new business opportunities on a routine basis for expansion of the company involvement at customer locations. This is a safety-sensitive position, the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative. Candidates offered employment must undergo a pre-employment drug test. The test screens for drugs including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines, following the cutoff levels set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess industry and territory knowledge required for maximum potential. In addition, he/she must be to able to manage well established existing customer relationships and prospect for future opportunities in trading areas served. College courses in sales, marketing or business administration preferred. Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, personable, extroverted personality, well organized.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to access customer business locations. Must be able to operate an automobile.
