University of Alabama at Birmingham - 4.1 Birmingham, AL Job Details From $17.95 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Typing Full Job Description Description The University of Alabama at Birmingham Police and Public Safety Department seeks Dispatcher Police personnel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Sends and receives radio transmissions from sworn and non-sworn field units and surrounding agencies. Answers the telephone and determines the form of assistance required. Assures units within the department responds or refers the call to other sources for resolution. Performs multi-tasking priorities. Maintains knowledge of all required department policies and procedures. Operates the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center/National Crime Information Center (ACJIC/NCIC) terminal and become certified on the same. Operates equipment in the Communications Center. Rotates on all shifts and all days of the week, at the discretion of the Communications Supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned.
