Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our logistics team. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule vehicle dispatches using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software to meet delivery deadlines. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and phone call management tools to provide clear instructions and updates. Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Manage shipping & receiving schedules, freight documentation, and data entry tasks accurately within logistics platforms such as Oracle Transportation Management. Maintain organized records of dispatch activities, vehicle logs, and incident reports while adhering to internal communication protocols. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries professionally through phone etiquette and ensuring timely resolution of issues related to transportation or freight. Support supply chain operations by analyzing transportation data to identify efficiencies, troubleshoot delays, and implement process improvements in road transportation operations. Experience Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment, preferably involving fleet management or 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) providers. Familiarity with transportation planning tools such as transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle dispatch software, and GPS tracking technology. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations governing freight transport and road transportation operations. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for data entry, reporting, and communication purposes. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently across a multi-line phone system while managing internal communication channels. Analysis skills for reviewing logistics data to improve dispatching strategies and operational workflows. Effective communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette to liaise confidently with drivers, customers, vendors, and team members. Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in shipping & receiving documentation.
