Job Description

Bay Medic Transportation, a dynamic and fast-growing company in Northern California, is eager to expand our communications division. We prioritize outstanding customer service, communication skills, professionalism, multitasking ability, and quick learning for this role. The position entails call taking, operating tracking systems and managing communication equipment (radio or cell phones) to monitor the status of field personnel and units. We are currently looking for candidates with OPEN availability and flexibility to work any shift including nights and weekends.
Pay Range:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Primary Daily Duties:
Receive and prioritize incoming calls from clients, medical facilities, and personnel needing non-emergency medical transportation services. Offer accurate information to callers regarding transportation procedures, services available, and estimated arrival times. Coordinate and schedule transportation requests efficiently, ensuring timely pickup and drop-off. Efficiently dispatch units to non-emergency or emergency calls in a timely manner. Use CAD tracking systems or communication equipment (radio or cell phones) to monitor the status and location of vehicles and field personnel. Demonstrate the ability to make accurate moment to moment decision making in regard to the dispatch of emergency and non-emergency vehicles. Ensure excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally and promptly. Demonstrate the ability to effectively use the dispatch system, land lines, and all portable radios. Safeguard sensitive client information and adhere to confidentiality policies and regulations. Follow established company and department protocols, standard operating procedures, and regulations governing non-emergency medical transportation services. Participate in training programs as required. Work collaboratively with dispatch team members, drivers, and administrative staff to ensure seamless operations. The dispatcher will perform other related tasks and duties as assigned by the Dispatch Supervisor.
Qualifications and requirements:
OPEN AVAILABILITY REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent required. Emergency Medical Dispatch Certificate (preferred) Prior experience in dispatching, customer service, or a healthcare setting (preferred). Excellent ability to communicate and work cohesively with customers and field personnel. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, teams, managers, supervisors, and external customers. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle a high volume of calls, schedule transportation efficiently, and maintain accurate records. Must have computer competency including proficiency with and current Dispatch Software. Must have the ability to consistently deliver outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers. Highly dependable and ability to meet internal deadlines consistently. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Flexible and adaptable, willing and able to adjust to rapidly changing priorities. Must have the ability to work independently as well as in groups. Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times. Be able to function in a high-stress environment where the work goes from minimal to overload within moments. Must have a mature, courteous, and decisive nature in order to provide maximum customer service. Must be able to type at least 40wpm
