Job Description

About the Role Our client is a premier commercial refrigeration service provider delivering mission-critical installation, service, and preventative maintenance for restaurants, supermarkets, cold-storage facilities, and commercial properties (including exciting big tech companies!) They are growing quickly and growing their team. We are seeking an experienced, sharp, and calm-under-pressure Service Dispatcher to serve as the command center of our daily operations. In this role, you will be the direct link between our commercial clients and our field technicians—managing route efficiency, prioritizing emergency equipment breakdowns, and ensuring our service delivery runs seamlessly every single day.
Key Responsibilities High-Impact Service Dispatching:
Triage incoming emergency calls and online requests for commercial refrigeration failures (walk-ins, chillers, rack systems) and refrigeration breakdowns; prioritize dispatches based on urgency, customer contract SLAs, and technician skill set.
Territory & Route Optimization:
Schedule and route field service technicians strategically to minimize windshield time, increase route density, and maximize daily billable hours.
Technician Coordination:
Provide technicians with clear job briefs, facility access codes, equipment model histories, and necessary parts documentation before they arrive on site.
Client Communication:
Serve as the professional front line for facility managers, restaurant operators, and property managers—delivering prompt ETAs, clear follow-up communications, and transparent status updates. Preventative Maintenance (PM)
Scheduling:
Proactively schedule and balance recurring maintenance contracts alongside daily unscheduled emergency service calls.
Work Order & Billing Support:
Review completed work order summaries, audit technician labor hours, document parts used, and assist the administrative team with closing out work tickets for prompt invoicing. Qualifications 2+ years of dispatch or service coordination experience , preferably within Commercial Refrigeration, HVAC, Mechanical, Plumbing, or Commercial Trades .
Strong Emergency Triage Skills:
Comfortable navigating high-pressure calls where equipment failure directly impacts a customer's business operations.
Field Management Tech Savvy:
Hands-on experience with modern dispatch and Field Service Management (FSM) software (e.g., ServiceTitan, BuildOps, Jonas, SAMPro, ESC, or similar platforms) along with strong MS Office/Outlook skills.
Geographic Awareness:
Strong understanding of local roads, highway systems, and regional geography to effectively route technicians across the service area.
Clear Communication:
Articulate, patient, and professional verbal and written communication skills with both blue-collar field personnel and executive facility clients.
