In this vital role, you will serve as the central communication hub, ensuring seamless vehicle dispatching, efficient routing, and compliance with transportation regulations. Duties Manage daily dispatching of vehicles using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software to ensure timely deliveries and pickups. Coordinate with drivers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and phone call management tools to relay instructions, updates, and resolve issues promptly. Utilize tracking technology to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve overall transportation planning efficiency. Maintain accurate data entry of shipment details, delivery schedules, and driver logs while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Oversee shipping & receiving processes, ensuring freight is loaded, unloaded, and documented correctly in logistics systems. Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding scheduling changes, delays, or emergencies through internal communication channels. Skills Strong knowledge of tracking technology, and transportation planning tools to enhance route efficiency. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes. Experience with transportation management systems Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask across multiple lines of communication while maintaining accuracy in data entry. Effective customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette for managing client inquiries and driver communications. Solid understanding of road transportation operations, freight handling, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to vehicle operation and safety standards for compliance purposes. Analysis skills for assessing routing options, optimizing logistics workflows, and troubleshooting dispatch issues efficiently.
