In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of freight and transportation assets, ensuring timely deliveries and optimal fleet utilization. Your proactive communication skills and attention to detail will keep our supply chain running smoothly, supporting our commitment to excellence in transportation management. Duties Coordinate and schedule pickups, deliveries, and shipments using transportation management systems. Utilize GPS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve transportation planning. Communicate clearly with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and clients via phone & email while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Enter accurate data into transportation management software to ensure seamless freight tracking and documentation. Monitor fleet management systems to oversee vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and compliance with safety standards. Manage shipping & receiving operations, including scheduling freight movements through 3PL providers (third-party logistics). Analyze transportation data to identify inefficiencies, suggest improvements, and support supply chain optimization efforts. Experience Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment. Familiarity GPS technology, and transportation management systems such as e2Open, DrDispatch, Samsara, FourKites. Strong understanding of freight operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively. Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and managing multi-line phone systems. Knowledge of 3PL logistics providers and transportation planning strategies. Analysis skills to interpret transportation data for continuous process improvement.
