The Operations team is responsible for Emergency and Non-Emergency calls throughout East and South Bay Counties of Northern California. Position Summary:
The Dispatchers are the point of contact for both drivers and customers, as such, have all the information needed to make transports successful. A Westmed Dispatcher will ensure that ambulance transports run smoothly by coordinating with customers, providing precise logistics for EMT's to follow along on their routes, and coordinating transport times. Ambulance Dispatch experience preferred but not required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (listed but not limited to): Answering multi-line phone system Dispatching ambulances to calls Strong ability to multitask between phone calls, communications from ambulance crews, and county radios Provide positive customer service both internally and externally Manage unit utilization throughout the day Maintain the daily schedule of calls and adjusting as necessary throughout the day Have a good understanding of Bay Area freeways, hospitals, and traffic patterns Providing directions to crews as needed Provide timely reports to the management team Communicating daily reports to managers Call transcribing into a Zoll CAD system Requirements and Qualifications Must have good auditory abilities Must be able to type 45 wpm or greater Must have excellent oral and written communication skills High school diploma or equivalent Ability to handle high stress situations and call volumes Emergency Medical Technician/Emergency Medical Dispatch certificate highly desired (not required) Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
