Responsibilities Coordinate and dispatch paratransit vehicles using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs. Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and respond swiftly to any operational issues or delays. Manage multi-line phone systems to communicate effectively with drivers, passengers, and internal teams, providing real-time updates and support. Maintain accurate data entry of trip details, driver logs, and customer information while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Oversee scheduling adjustments based on demand, cancellations, or emergencies to maximize fleet efficiency. Facilitate internal communication between drivers, maintenance teams, and management to ensure smooth road transportation operations. Handle customer service inquiries professionally via phone calls or in person, addressing concerns promptly while maintaining excellent phone etiquette. Skills Proficiency with transportation scheduling software or similar platforms. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a high-volume dispatch environment. Knowledge of
GIS, GPS
technology, and road transportation operations to optimize routing and vehicle deployment. Experience with logistics, fleet management, shipping & receiving processes, and vehicle dispatch software. Effective communication skills—both verbal and written—to coordinate with drivers, customers, and internal teams seamlessly. Familiarity with DOT regulations related to passenger transport safety standards and compliance requirements. Ability to perform data entry accurately using typing skills on various computer systems including Microsoft Office applications.
