Dispatch Supervisor Schedule:
M-F 12noon to 9:00pm and 8:00pm to 5:00am (will need to be flexible hour)
Training:
1-2 week in Rancho Cucamonga Office Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented AM Transportation Dispatch Supervisor to lead our transportation operations with energy and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily dispatch activities, coordinate freight movements, and ensure seamless communication across our logistics network. Your expertise in transportation planning, fleet management, and supply chain coordination will drive efficiency and reliability in our delivery processes. Job Purpose:
This position requires leadership and management in routing transportation requirements for customer for the morning dispatch shift. The Transportation Manager may assign additional tasks as deemed appropriate at any time. Essential Functions of the
Job:
To lead the routing of pick-ups with the morning shift, optimizing the use of company drivers and owner operators, destination, and volume per delivery. Responsible in tracking and monitoring all issues relevant to attendance, time logs and absences for staff and owner operators within the spectrum of this role. Serve as contact person for all drivers. Responsible in logging and tracking of expenses relevant to this role, with all direct reports. Key to this job function is initiating actions related to cost savings.
Administration responsibility specifically in:
Driver Uniforms Driver Citations Addition or deletion of insurance coverage Driver punch times in/out/lunch
Organizational Relationships:
Has frequent contact and communicates with all levels of staff.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to communicate to customers effectively, professionally, and courteously, work independently with minimal supervision. Requires knowledge of office practices, recordkeeping, and reporting systems; business correspondence techniques and English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation; principles of public relations and communications; records management and file maintenance. Skills required include proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, QuickBooks and the TMS system, CLI/Facts. Bilingual English/Spanish required. Ability to use standard office equipment including telephones, calculators, copiers, and facsimile equipment; ability to type at the net rate of 35 words per minute using a computer keyboard. Ability to be courteous and professional; to accept constructive criticism. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions; to maintain the confidentiality of data; collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; prioritize, organize, and complete tasks independently. Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with customers, management, other employees, contractors, vendors, and public and private representatives.
Experience/Training/Education:
Required:
High school graduation or equivalent, plus minimum of 2-3 years of dispatch/supervision experience.
Preferred:
Associate degree or completion of some college business courses.
Physical and Environmental Elements:
This is primarily a sedentary office classification, and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Clear speaking voice is necessary, as well as finger dexterity to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard, or calculator, and to operate standard office equipment. The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports and records that typically weigh less than 20 pounds.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
