Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Operations Manager specializing in trucking dispatching to lead our road transportation operations. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate freight movements, manage vehicle dispatch schedules, and ensure seamless communication between drivers, clients, and internal teams. Your expertise will drive efficiency, optimize logistics processes, and uphold compliance with transportation regulations. Duties Oversee daily trucking dispatch operations, ensuring timely pickup and delivery of freight across multiple routes. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle dispatch software, and GPS technology to monitor fleet movements and optimize routing. Coordinate with drivers via multi-line phone systems and internal communication channels to relay instructions, updates, and address issues promptly. Maintain accurate data entry related to shipments, vehicle logs, and delivery schedules using Microsoft Office tools and specialized logistics software such as Oracle Transportation Management. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, safety standards, and road transportation laws during all dispatch activities. Manage customer service interactions by providing timely updates on freight status and resolving logistical concerns professionally. Analyze transportation data to improve route efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain performance. Qualifications Proven experience in road transportation operations, logistics, or fleet management with a focus on dispatching. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle dispatch software, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and GPS technology. Excellent communication skills for phone call management, internal coordination, and customer service. Knowledge of DOT regulations, shipping & receiving procedures, and freight documentation requirements. Demonstrated analysis skills for route planning, fleet utilization, and logistics optimization. Ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining attention to detail using Microsoft Office applications like Excel and Word. Familiarity with Oracle Transportation Management or similar transportation management platforms is preferred.
