DispatcherMust Have CDLWe are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of freight and vehicles, ensuring seamless transportation operations across various channels. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule vehicle dispatches using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management. Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and internal communication platforms. Manage phone call inquiries with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while providing accurate information on freight status, delivery times, and scheduling updates. Enter data accurately into logistics databases, including shipping & receiving records, freight details, and DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance documentation. Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and safety standards during dispatching activities. Collaborate with supply chain teams, 3PL providers, and fleet management to coordinate shipments efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service. Handle shipping schedules, freight documentation, and internal communication to facilitate smooth road transportation operations. Assist in problem-solving for logistical issues by analyzing data and providing actionable insights for transportation planning improvements. Experience Proven experience in transportation planning or dispatching within a logistics or supply chain environment. Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms. Knowledge of road transportation operations, fleet management practices, and vehicle dispatching procedures. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to manage multi-line phone systems confidently. Experience working with GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and data entry within logistics databases. Understanding of DOT regulations related to freight transport and vehicle safety standards is highly desirable. CDL Required Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for reporting and documentation purposes. Food Distribution or Warehouse experience is a plus.
