Job Description

Traffic & Dispatch Coordinator Location:
Gainesville, GA Employment Type:
Full-Time Schedule:
Monday
  • Friday, 7:30 AM
  • 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM; rotating Saturdays 8:00 AM
  • 11:00 AM Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Traffic & Dispatch Coordinator to support the efficient movement of freight and ensure seamless communication between drivers, carriers, and internal teams.
This role is critical to daily operations and serves as the primary point of contact for drivers throughout the lifecycle of each shipment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and takes a proactive approach to problem-solving while maintaining a high level of customer service. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and communicate with account managers, carrier representatives, dispatchers, and drivers to obtain necessary shipment and driver information Execute dispatch procedures and monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery ("cradle to grave") Provide real-time tracking updates and proactively identify and resolve delays or issues Accurately update transportation management systems (e.g., McLeod) with load status, timestamps, and communication logs Respond to and resolve driver or carrier concerns, escalating when appropriate Collaborate with internal teams to ensure on-time pickup and delivery while maintaining service standards Maintain consistent communication with leadership regarding performance, challenges, and process improvement opportunities Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and safety standards Qualifications High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred Previous experience in customer service and/or logistics preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with transportation management systems is a plus Typing speed of at least 40 WPM Ability to remain focused and productive for extended periods Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life Insurance Supplemental Benefits 401(k) Plan Employee Discount Program Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Why Join Us?
