Job Description
Freight Broker Carrier Manager (or Carrier Relations Specialist)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the movement of client's goods, ensuring they are picked up and delivered on-time to the client's satisfaction Develop carrier base and negotiated rates in accordance with company policies Maintain sensible business integrity in all business decisions Follow a culture of continuous quality improvement aimed at the highest level of customer satisfaction Record all necessary information into applicable software applications. Confer with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise Education and/orExperience:
- A minimum of 1-2 years of similar or related experience in the transportation industry
- Associates or Bachelor's degree a plus, but not required
- Basic computer and typing skills to include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Profit Tools highly desirable
- Possess a strong customer service mentality
- Flexibility in dealing with tight deadlines and service sensitive issues on a daily basis
- Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
- Work well with others in a team environment
- Teachable and eager to learn
