Job Description
Kemco Trucking is a locally-based carrier seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to coordinate daily deliveries and pick-ups for our customers. This is a supervisory position overseeing up to 15 local drivers who report to our facility every morning and return each evening . The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of DOT compliance and a passion for efficient, professional operations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all customer needs and commitments are met Dispatch and manage up to 15 drivers using company phone and email Maintain compliance with all DOT regulations Notify drivers of assignments and direct their daily activities Track and document shipment information and required paperwork Update dispatch database and Crown Freight Manager with all movements Analyze assignments to create the most efficient routes Monitor GPS and assess driver locations and on-time performance Perform data entry, answer phones, and manage email correspondence Upload delivery paperwork and other documents into logistics software Handle other clerical and operational tasks as assignedSKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of Chicagoland and surrounding areas Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Accurate typing and data entry capabilities Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Professional and prompt client response Ability to read, comprehend, and complete checklists, forms, and documentation Problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs; good vision and depth perception requiredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required 1-3 years of relevant experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred Industry experience (1 year minimum) strongly preferredAVAILABLE SHIFT 9
