•$27.00/hour (Depending on Experience) Job Overview PrideStaff is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Intermodal Dispatch & Customer Service Representative for a fast-paced logistics provider in the Joliet area. This role serves as a vital bridge between customers, rail portals, and drivers to ensure smooth container movements across local rail hubs. If you have experience tracking intermodal freight, communicating with drivers, and maintaining accurate order entries in a logistics operating system, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities Container Tracing:
Track and trace import/export containers across rail websites (BNSF, UP, etc.) to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
Dispatch & Load Assignment:
Assign intermodal loads to drivers within the operating system, providing clear instructions and route details.
Driver Communication:
Serve as the main point of contact for local drivers throughout the day, answering questions, providing updates, and resolving route issues.
Data & Order Entry:
Input accurate customer orders and load details into the system; maintain up-to-date information on empty container return locations.
Customer Support:
Provide regular status updates to clients, addressing inquiries regarding container availability, delivery schedules, and delays.
Qualifications Experience:
1-3+ years of experience in intermodal dispatch, drayage operations, or logistics customer service preferred.
System Knowledge:
Familiarity with major rail carrier portals and logistics management software/TMS.
Communication Skills:
Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills for daily interaction with drivers and customers.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to prioritize tasks and make quick decisions in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
Location:
Must be able to work reliably on-site in Joliet, IL during scheduled hours (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM
