Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and organized Dispatcher to join our team. The Dispatcher will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation logistics, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining efficient fleet management. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Coordinate and schedule transportation routes for drivers to ensure timely deliveries the day before, or throughout the week before the delivery due dates. Manage fleet operations, including monitoring vehicle performance and maintenance schedules and coordinating with the rail ops manager. Utilize transportation management software such as MyAIT or AS400 for data entry and tracking shipments. Oversee shipping and receiving processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Communicate with drivers to provide updates on routes, schedules, and any changes that may arise. Analyze transportation data to optimize routes and improve delivery times. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless logistics operations. Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities and documentation. Skills Local trucking dispatching experience for the Chicago area is an absolute must. Proficiency in fleet management and transportation planning. Experience with shipping and receiving processes. Familiarity with the area is a plus. Strong data entry skills with attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and drivers. The hours will be Monday-Thursday 1:00 PM-9:00 PM; Sunday 8:00 AM-4:00 PM ; Off on Friday and Saturday.
