At Marc's Auto Service in Wareham, MA, we're looking for a dependable and organized Dispatcher to join our team. As the first point of contact, you'll play a vital role in coordinating our fleet and ensuring timely, professional service. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a difference. What You'll Do as a Dispatcher Your day-to-day responsibilities will include tasks that require quick thinking, strong communication, and a knack for organization. Here's a closer look at what you'll be doing:
- Answer and manage multi-line phone systems and digital dispatch requests from stranded motorists, law enforcement, motor clubs, and commercial clients.
- Dispatch appropriate equipment —from flatbeds to heavy-duty wreckers—based on the vehicle type and situation.
- Coordinate with drivers using GPS dispatch software to assign the closest available truck and optimize routes.
- Monitor active calls and maintain communication with drivers to ensure smooth operations.
- Document critical information such as customer details, call specifics, timestamps, and incident reports using dispatch software like Towbook.
- Schedule and coordinate vehicle transports and equipment hauling for commercial and private accounts.
- Maintain professionalism and composure while handling high-volume calls and time-sensitive situations. What You'll Need to Succeed We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle the demands of this critical role. Here's what we're seeking:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
- Comfort using computers, GPS mapping, and dispatch software.
- A quick decision-making ability to assign the right truck for each call based on vehicle type and recovery needs.
- Previous experience in dispatch, towing, logistics, emergency services, or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
Position Details Location:
On-site at one of our Marc's Auto Service facilities in Wareham, MA.Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM- 11:00 PM.
Position Type:
