Shift:
Monday - Friday 6am-230pm Job Summary Tighe Logistics is currently seeking a Dispatcher to join our transportation team. The Dispatcher is responsible for the routing, scheduling, and tracking of daily shipments in support of a major dedicated customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as Control Tower for all dedicated customer's traffic, including moves, transfers, and finished goods as well as drayage to ensure that dedicated customer has both a complete and timely view of activity and that the operation is executed as effectively and efficiently as possible. Ensure complete and accurate data from Tighe WMS to Tighe TMS and within / across Tighe TMS and telematics systems (currently Koerber and Samsara respectively). Support normal Tighe Logistics' Dispatch tasks for dedicated customer: o Main point of contact/communication hub for transportation scheduling of pick-ups and deliveries within the customer's network. o Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop daily route schedules and to properly schedule and communicate pick-up and deliveries per agreed Statement of Work. o Ensure appropriate resources are available to support business on a daily basis. o Ensure drivers and equipment are compliant with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations. o Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner. o Effective communication of issues and resolution with all stakeholders. Develop, maintain and monitor - with the support of Tighe Business Intelligence - key measures as agreed in dedicated customer's Statement of Work, best industry practices, representative of end-to-end operational ownership of Tighe and otherwise identified in the standard course of business.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma and at least 2-4 years of experience in transportation or logistics. Requires good supervisory and communication skills. Familiarity with computers and material handling equipment is essential. Strong decision making and coaching skills. Able to drive results. Familiarity with DOT Rules and Regulations including hours of service. Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements. Must be able to shift priorities easily. Must know Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
