Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Dispatch Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the coordination of daily transportation activities, oversee dispatch operations, and ensure seamless communication between drivers, clients, and internal teams. Your proactive approach will help optimize routes, manage freight logistics, and uphold our commitment to excellent customer service. Duties Uses software to track, check, prioritize and route deliveries Support route planning and scheduling to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines Communicate with drivers to relay instructions and updates Correspond directly with clients Performs daily and weekly tasks related to driver payroll ensuring accuracy and that budgetary goals are being met Dispatch Independent Contractors to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications or needs. Consult with managerial personnel in order to meet operational goals. Receive, input, and distribute On Demand work orders, proof of deliveries (PODs) and manifests. Serve as a contact person for all drivers within route territories and inform them of traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards. Experience Some experience in transportation planning, dispatching or logistics coordination within a road transportation operations environment Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently Excellent communication skills for internal communication and customer service interactions Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel for data analysis and reporting Experience working with 3PL providers or in shipping & receiving environments is a plus Some college experience preferred
