Job Description
THE COMPANY AND THE ROLE
Angry Byrd Logistics is a woman-owned Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) launched in 2021 and based in Hanover, MD. We operate 361 days a year, and are looking for a Fleet Manager to own the health, compliance, and daily readiness of a 50+ vehicle gas and electric fleet. If you're the kind of person who chases a repair until it's done, keeps immaculate records, and takes personal pride in every van rolling out safe and road-ready, we want to talk to you. This is roughly 65% fleet administration and compliance, 20% repair coordination and light hands-on work, and the balance supporting the wider operation (including backup dispatch support when call-outs or volume require it). This position offers a competitive salary plus quarterly performance incentives, along with a full benefits package.DAILY FLEET READINESS
- Ensure the fleet is clean and in excellent working condition before daily load-out, and assist with load-out when needed
- Review daily vehicle inspections and photos, and act on all reported defects same day
- Ensure vans are fueled and EDVs are charged with enough range for their assigned routes
- Produce the daily fleet status report: vehicles in service, in repair, and ready for tomorrow
- Verify every vehicle's status is accurate in the Amazon Portal so available capacity reflects reality
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR COORDINATION
- Follow up relentlessly on open repairs (status, parts availability, shop capacity) and source an alternate approved vendor whenever a shop can't meet the required timeline
- Track all PMs and ensure they are completed for both the rental and branded fleet
- Schedule and transport vans to authorized shops for PM, repairs, and servicing
- Coordinate tows for downed fleet as needed
- Maintain a maintenance-tracking spreadsheet and app updates covering PM intervals, repair status, and vehicle history
SAFETY DEFECTS, GROUNDING, AND DAMAGE
- Ensure all safety defects are scheduled for repair within two business days
- Oversee the grounding and ungrounding process for vehicles
- Document all accident and collision damage thoroughly with photos and estimates, review vendor estimates and invoices for accuracy and unnecessary work, and recommend cost-efficient repair solutions
- Complete all recalls, retrofits, and service campaigns within 30 days of parts becoming available
COMPLIANCE, DOCUMENTATION, AND AUDITS
- Complete weekly audits of every van to verify required documentation and safety supplies are present and current
- Track registration expirations
- Ensure safety devices (telematics and Netradyne cameras) stay installed, active, and untampered, troubleshoot as needed, and remove them from rentals at end of term
TEAM, TRAINING, AND COLLABORATION
- Coach and train drivers on proper vehicle inspections
- Assist with follow-up on vehicle damage reporting
- Partner with the Dispatch and Ops Leads to consistently meet Delivery Excellence and Safety objectives
- Collaborate with the Amazon Regional Fleet Manager and Central Operations team to advance fleet objectives and resolve issues
- Support daily operations, including backup dispatch when call-outs or volume require it
HANDS-ON WORK
- Perform light maintenance yourself: changing tires, replacing bulbs and wiper blades, swapping mirrors, checking batteries, topping off fluids, and tightening loose hardware
- Know where the line is.
