The Aviation Dispatcher will oversee the dispatching of NMC aircraft. Duties include monitoring weather conditions and NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen), and helping to ensure all flights comply with FAA regulations and program policies. They are the central point of communication, working closely with student pilots, flight instructors, and maintenance personnel to schedule aircraft, manage fuel logistics, and troubleshoot any operational issues that arise. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions to maintain a safe and efficient training environment for all students and staff, while also performing general administrative duties for the division as required.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
A high school diploma or equivalent, with additional certification /training. Two years of experience working with a regulated or technical industry. Two years of related Aviation dispatch or relevant Aviation Operations experience. Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity. Experience and understanding of FAA and TSA regulations. Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security badge, which requires passing a background check.
Preferred:
Associate's degree in aviation management, business or a related field. Between 5 to 10 years of related experience. Experience with Aviation software. Essential Responsibilities ? (Critical) Dispatches flights per NMC Aviation protocol to ensure safety. ? (Very Important) Monitors weather conditions, collaborates with the chief or assistant chief in making decisions regarding go and no-go for solo flights based on NMC Aviation policy- approved weather minimums. ? (Very Important) Monitors aviation fleet status and notifies supervisors of discrepancies. ? (Very Important) Assists in coordinating, implementing, and monitoring the flight schedules for all students, instructors, and aircraft. ? (Critical) Receives aircraft after flights and prepares for next departure. ? (Critical) Processes invoices for flight and ground training entries. ? (Critical) Monitors and reports on flight status of overdue aircraft. ? (Critical) Ensures student funds are in place for every flight. ? (Very Important) Processes flight account deposits, as needed. ? (Important) Answers main phone line and emails to Aviation, answering questions or transferring/forwarding when appropriate. ? (Important) Performs general clerical work. ? (Important) Assists with the training of adjunct instructors on dispatch procedures, records, etc. ? (Very Important) Assists in scheduling aircraft maintenance and monitoring aircraft times/dates for FAA-required inspections. ? (Critical) Responsible for supervision of line crew in collaboration with Operations Manager (supplemental or student employees) in the Aviation Division as it relates to aircraft dispatch procedures. Includes training, planning, assigning and directing work. ? (Very Important) Manages aircraft fleet schedule to maximize aircraft availability and coordinate maintenance scheduling. ? (Very Important) Assists with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) badges for students and staff, including new, renewal, and expired badges. ?
