In this role, you answer urgent calls, coordinate life-saving responses, and guide callers through critical moments with calm expertise. Your work directly protects the public, brings order to chaos, and ensures that help reaches the right place at the exact right time. Job Duties and Responsibilities Manages emergency dispatch operations by fielding high-volume urgent calls and routing resources swiftly to secure public safety. Executes crisis management protocols to assess high-stress situations, prioritize responses, and maintain calm under intense pressure. Drives active listening and communication to extract critical details from distressed callers while providing clear instructions. Operates Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to log incidents, track units, and update records with high accuracy. Processes rapid data entry to ensure all incident details, timestamps, and notes remain current and accessible. Applies local geography and mapping knowledge to pinpoint locations, direct field units, and optimize routing in real time. Required Qualifications Education Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience Demonstrates at least one year of experience in a fast-paced customer service, dispatch, or high-stress administrative environment. Proves success in high-stakes multitasking and rapid decision-making roles. Knowledge/Skills Masters Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software and modern data entry systems. Exhibits exceptional stress tolerance and emotional resilience during critical incidents. Displays expert verbal communication and active listening abilities. Understands local geography, mapping , and public safety protocols. Preferred Qualifications Holds prior certification as a public safety dispatcher or emergency medical dispatcher. Speaks multiple languages to serve diverse community populations effectively. Physical Requirements/Work Conditions Operates in a 24/7 dispatch center environment with shifting schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Sits for extended periods while monitoring multiple computer screens and wearing a headset. Maintains focus and composure in a noisy, high-pressure atmosphere.
