Job Description

Applicants MUST be available for evenings, nights, and holidays. Do not apply if you are unable/unwilling to work outside of regular business hours. We are a 24/7/365 tow company looking for a full time call taker/dispatch with evening and overnight availability to help in our Raymore office. Hours for weekday scheduling range from 12pm to 8pm, and include a weekend rotation with working hours ranging from 8am to 8pm. This is NOT a remote position. The ideal candidate needs to be reliable and comfortable with a fluctuating schedule. The individual must feel comfortable working alone as well as in a team, be able to work in an environment where the pace routinely fluctuates, and be capable of dealing with emergency situations as they arise. Duties Include:
Answer phones in a timely manner Enter call information into dispatch system Decipher information needed for emergency and roadside calls from customers and police departments Communicate appropriate information to customers and drivers Assist in the cleaning and upkeep of the office Calculate mileage and hourly based quotes from provided rates Be able to work on a computer and navigate GPS and Google Maps Dispatch responsibilities as needed (Send calls out, provide radio correspondence with drivers, monitor driver status)
Schedule Requirements:
Must be able to work shifts 8 to 12 hours in length Must be available to work 2 weekend shifts per months Must be available to be on call during winter months for severe and hazardous weather events Must be available during regular business hours for new-hire training Must be able to work some holidays through the year
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 6 months of relevant experience (dispatching, call taking, emergency, towing, or auto industry, etc.) Ability to multitask Ability to work in fluctuating-paced environment Excellent communication skills Flexible availability Strong attention to detail Familiarity with Google Maps (must be able to run mileage from one location to another, utilize latitude/longitude coordinates, use pin drops, etc.) Strong typing skills (55+ wpm) Familiarity with cities, highways, and roadways through Cass, Jackson, Bates, and Henry County 2-way radio experience (desired, but not required)
