Job Description

Broadwater County Sheriff's Office is seeking a full-time Dispatcher/Control Officer in Townsend, MT ! (Send your resume to the email below)
Term:
Permanent Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Pay:
$23.20 plus shift differential
Responsibilities:
Receive telephone calls requiring primarily emergency type of assistance and transmits such requests for service to the appropriate personnel Perform dispatch services for emergency services in law enforcement, ambulance, fire, and other agencies Use standard operating procedures in transmitting, receiving, and making a record of all radio, computer, and telephone messages Monitor all dispatched calls to ensure the security and safety of responding personnel Maintain location and status information on all mobile units Maintain logs of activities Operate teletype, computer terminal, and paging system Work requires the immediate determination regarding the sequence of events for each type of call received Serve as the first point of contact for emergency services Manage information dealing with life and death situations Processe information which is generally limited
Requirements:
Must be certified as P.O.S.T. Dispatcher and P.O.S.T. Detention Officer within twelve (12) months of employment Must be Certified to access CJIN within six (6) months of employment Physical requirements include prolonged sitting, bending, stooping, walking, and climbing. Must be able to manage stressful situations Must be able to lift up to 50lbs Must have the ability to remain calm under stress and ability to multi task Must have ability to hear and speak with clarity. Must possess, or the ability to obtain, a valid Montana Operator's License A successful applicant must pass a background check before hiring.
