This position is responsible for coordinating daily transit schedules, monitoring vehicle locations, communicating with drivers, and responding to service disruptions or emergencies. The dispatcher ensures that buses run on time, routes are covered, and passengers receive reliable service. Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Manage day-of-service operations. Assign work and fill open runs. Monitor service in real time. Communicate with operators and supervisors. Document all service activity accurately. Ensure compliance with safety and operational policies. Coordinate with routing specialists and schedulers to optimize daily transit routes. Dispatch drivers based on client reservations received via phone and online platforms. Review and confirm upcoming reservations, ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction. Communicate with clients to verify details and availability for scheduled trips. Handle same-day service requests, assess route feasibility, and ensure driver availability. Make outbound calls to city transit partners and access services as needed. Proactively identify and resolve potential pickup issues before they impact service. Manage missed pickups by rerouting drivers and maintaining service continuity. Assist in determining daily driver staffing levels to balance responsiveness and efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned by operations staff. Requirements for a Dispatcher Minimum of 2 years of general work experience , including driving and customer service . (Transit dispatching experience is a plus) Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have CDL-B Must have held a valid driver's license for a minimum of 2 years . Strong ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines . Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficient in computer and dispatch software systems. Must possess a clean driving record with no criminal convictions, including DWI, DUI, assault, or possession-related offenses. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required to meet operational needs.Pay:
