Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations efficiently and ensure seamless communication across our logistics network. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing vehicle dispatching, tracking freight movements, and maintaining clear internal and external communication channels. Your proactive approach will help optimize routes, adhere to safety regulations, and deliver exceptional customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced supply chain environment where your organizational skills and transportation expertise will drive success. Duties Coordinate and assign vehicle dispatches using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software to ensure timely deliveries. Monitor internal systems and (Geographic Information Systems) data to track fleet locations, optimize routes, and improve overall delivery efficiency. Communicate with drivers to provide updates, resolve issues, and confirm delivery details. Maintain accurate data entry of shipment details, delivery schedules, and internal records Ensure compliance with all regulations by monitoring driver hours, vehicle inspections, and safety protocols during dispatching processes. Handle internal communication effectively to relay critical information across departments while managing phone etiquette professionally at all times. Requirements Ability to work 8-10-hour shifts Combination of desk work and on-site operational support Occasional outdoor activity during loadout and dispatch Be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be at least 21 years old Must hold a non-provisional, unrestricted driver's license OR unexpired state-issued identification Must be authorized to work in the United States Must have a satisfactory motor vehicle report (multiple violations can disqualify you from the position) Strong knowledge of road transportation operations, logistics, and transportation planning principles. Excellent analysis skills for route optimization, freight tracking, and problem-solving in logistics scenarios. Effective communication skills for phone call management, interactions, and internal coordination.
