Job Description

Position Summary Fortune Logistics is seeking an experienced and highly organized Bilingual Truck Dispatcher who is fluent in both English and Chinese . The Truck Dispatcher will coordinate daily transportation operations, assign loads and routes, communicate with drivers and customers, track shipments, manage transportation documents, and resolve delivery issues. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and able to manage multiple drivers and shipments in a fast-paced environment. Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required. Key Responsibilities Plan and assign daily loads, routes, pickups, and deliveries to drivers. Coordinate local, regional, port, rail, warehouse, and customer delivery operations. Provide drivers with accurate addresses, appointment times, load details, reference numbers, and customer instructions. Communicate with English-speaking and Chinese-speaking drivers, customers, warehouses, brokers, and internal teams. Track drivers, trucks, trailers, containers, and shipments throughout the day. Monitor delivery progress and ensure pickups and deliveries are completed on time. Schedule and confirm warehouse, port, rail terminal, pickup, and delivery appointments. Provide customers and management with timely shipment status updates. Respond to traffic delays, driver call-outs, vehicle breakdowns, rejected deliveries, damaged freight, missed appointments, and scheduling changes. Reassign loads and adjust routes when operational issues occur. Collect, review, and organize bills of lading, proof of delivery, delivery orders, interchange receipts, gate tickets, and other transportation documents. Update dispatch systems, spreadsheets, driver schedules, and customer records accurately. Follow up on missing documents, delayed shipments, incomplete deliveries, detention, layover, tolls, parking charges, and other transportation expenses. Monitor driver availability, working hours, and delivery performance. Assist with ELD and Hours-of-Service compliance when applicable. Report accidents, cargo damage, driver violations, customer complaints, and other serious operational issues immediately. Maintain professional communication and provide excellent customer service. Perform other transportation, logistics, and administrative duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Fluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese . Ability to communicate professionally with both English-speaking and Chinese-speaking drivers and customers. No previous experience needed. Strong follow-up and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills. Ability to remain calm and make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, GPS applications, and dispatch or transportation management systems. Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Dependable, responsive, and able to work independently. Preferred Qualifications Experience dispatching CDL Class A drivers, port drivers, regional drivers, or box truck delivery drivers. Experience with drayage, container, port, rail, or intermodal transportation. Knowledge of DOT regulations, ELD systems, and Hours-of-Service requirements. Familiarity with New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and surrounding regional routes. Experience working with freight brokers, warehouses, distribution centers, ports, and rail terminals. Familiarity with bills of lading, proof of delivery, delivery orders, and interchange receipts. Experience using transportation management systems or load-tracking software. Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to prioritize urgent transportation issues. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively under pressure. Strong teamwork and coordination skills. Work Expectations Must be available during scheduled dispatch hours. Must respond promptly to drivers, customers, and operational issues. Occasional overtime, early-morning, evening, or weekend work may be required based on business needs. Must maintain accurate records and protect confidential driver, customer, and company information. Must follow company safety policies, dispatch procedures, and escalation requirements.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
