Job Description

Company Overview We are a manufacturer of EPS construction materials shipping finished products to supply houses, local businesses, and job sites. Shipments originate from our manufacturing facility at 4004 West Cheyenne Ave, North Las Vegas, NV 89032. Position Summary The Transportation Dispatcher / Shipping Logistics Coordinator will manage daily shipment activity using AscendTMS or a similar transportation management system. This person will coordinate company truck deliveries, local trucking companies, outside carriers, and freight brokers, while keeping shipment documentation, status updates, and proof-of-delivery records accurate and organized. Key Responsibilities TMS / AscendTMS Management Enter and maintain shipments in AscendTMS or selected TMS platform. Create shipment records, carrier records, customer records, and delivery location records. Maintain shipment status updates from scheduling through delivery completion. Upload and organize BOLs, rate confirmations, PODs, invoices, and delivery documents. Track open, scheduled, in-transit, delivered, and completed shipments. Maintain accurate shipment history for reporting and customer service. Carrier and Broker Coordination Send quote requests to multiple carriers/brokers at the same time. Coordinate with TQL, Priority1, local trucking companies, stepdeck carriers, and other approved transportation providers. Compare rates, availability, accessorials, and service commitments. Award shipments based on cost, availability, equipment fit, and service reliability. Confirm pickup and delivery appointment details. Communicate shipment requirements clearly to carriers. Internal Fleet Dispatch Schedule company-owned delivery equipment, including 26 ft box truck and possible future 40 ft gooseneck trailer. Track truck and driver availability. Build local multi-stop delivery routes. Manually sequence stops based on delivery priority, geography, truck capacity, and customer requirements. Communicate route details to drivers and monitor delivery progress throughout the day. Collect and file proof of delivery. Full Truckload / Stepdeck Shipments Coordinate full truckload shipments using 53 ft stepdeck trailers. Communicate load dimensions, weights, pickup requirements, delivery instructions, and jobsite details. Confirm whether tarps, straps, forklift, call-ahead, appointments, or special handling are required. Ensure carriers understand jobsite or supply house delivery expectations. Track shipments from pickup through delivery. Customer and Jobsite Coordination Confirm delivery contacts, phone numbers, appointment windows, and access requirements. Document jobsite instructions, forklift availability, gate access, call-ahead instructions, and special notes. Provide shipment updates to internal staff and customers as needed. Resolve delivery issues quickly and professionally. Documentation and Reporting Maintain accurate records of quotes, awarded rates, PODs, invoices, and shipment notes. Track carrier performance and service issues. Support freight cost reporting by lane, customer, carrier, and month. Help identify preferred carriers by lane and equipment type. Maintain organized digital records for accounting and customer service. Required Qualifications 2+ years of dispatch, logistics, shipping, transportation, or carrier coordination experience. Experience working with carriers, brokers, drivers, or delivery teams. Strong computer skills and ability to learn TMS software. Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, PDFs, online carrier portals, and shipment tracking tools. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong phone and email communication skills. Ability to manage multiple shipments at the same time. Detail-oriented with good follow-up habits. Ability to work on-site in North Las Vegas. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AscendTMS, Freightview, FreightPOP, PCS, Shipwell, Truckstop, DAT, or similar TMS/load board tools. Experience with flatbed, stepdeck, construction materials, oversized/lightweight freight, or jobsite deliveries. Experience coordinating full truckload shipments. Experience dispatching company-owned trucks or local delivery drivers. Experience collecting BOLs, PODs, rate confirmations, and carrier invoices. Familiarity with TQL, Priority1, freight brokers, local carriers, and direct trucking companies. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Must be able to frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 15 pounds Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment in a warehouse setting . This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. This position collaborates with department manager(s), clients and vendors daily. Compensation $22-$25/hour depending on experience. Work Schedule Full-time, on-site. Ideal candidate would have availability between 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Daily schedule may be subject to change based on the needs of the business and department, and at the direction of the manager. Success Measures Shipments entered accurately and on time in the TMS. Quote requests sent promptly and tracked to completion. Carrier selections documented with rate and service notes. Local delivery routes scheduled clearly with driver instructions. PODs collected and filed promptly. Customer/jobsite delivery issues escalated early and resolved professionally. Freight cost and carrier history kept organized for reporting. $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
