Scheduling and Accounts Receiveable The Door Company Columbus, OH Job Details Full-time 16 hours ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off 401(k) matching Qualifications Team scheduling Attention to detail QuickBooks Full Job Description Service Scheduler / Dispatcher Full-Time The Door Company is seeking an organized, dependable, and customer-focused Service Scheduler / Dispatcher to coordinate our daily service schedule and help keep our technicians, customers, and office team running efficiently. We specialize in commercial door service, repair, and installation throughout the Columbus area. Position Overview A successful scheduler doesn't simply fill openings on a calendar. They understand what is happening in the field, anticipate scheduling problems, communicate with customers, and help technicians use their time efficiently. The Service Scheduler / Dispatcher is responsible for managing and coordinating service calls from the time a customer requests service through the technician's arrival and completion of the work. This position requires someone who can manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly, make good decisions under pressure, and adjust quickly when the day's schedule changes. This is a fast-paced position where organization, accuracy, communication, and follow-through are extremely important. Responsibilities Answer incoming customer telephone calls throughout the workday and serve as a primary, professional point of contact for customers requesting service Promptly. schedule and dispatch service technicians for daily service calls, relaying important job site information and communication throughout the day Coordinate technician schedules based on location, availability, skill set, and job requirements and customer urgency, which includes adjustments as needed. Work closely with sales, service, and management to coordinate customer needs Follow up on jobs requiring additional visits, parts, or scheduling Maintain accurate notes regarding scheduling changes and customer conversations Prepare and process customer invoices based on the work performed by technicians, including processing customer payments Verify that labor, materials, service charges, and other billable items are accurately reflected on customer invoices What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who is naturally organized and enjoys keeping a busy operation running smoothly.
You should be:
Highly organized and detail-oriented Comfortable handling a high volume of incoming telephone calls Professional, friendly, and confident when speaking with customers and technicians Comfortable handling multiple tasks at the same time Comfortable making scheduling decisions and changing priorities throughout the day Dependable and punctual Comfortable working with computers, scheduling software, specifically QuickBooks, invoicing systems, email, and phone systems Able to work effectively as part of a team and solo Willing to learn the commercial door and service industry Previous experience in service scheduling, dispatching, customer service, invoicing, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, garage doors, facilities maintenance, or another field-service business is a plus, but commercial door experience is not required.
