Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.Job Function:
Generally responsible for completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions. Responsible for scheduling and dispatching tractors-trailers or other vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs, using radios or telephones. Following instructions, coordinates with shipping staff to provide direction for outbound shipments. Using a warehouse management system, systemically opens/closes shipments and prepares accurate bills of lading for outbound freight. Ensures the accuracy of all shipping documents by strict adherence to standard operating procedures. Gathers and enters shipping information into warehouse management system. Assists in resolving any discrepancies and/or quickly escalates issues to management. Maintains the load board with accurate information. Assists with customer communication for scheduling of shipments. Assists customers and sales inquiries to address questions, problems, and requests for service, pick-up and delivery. Monitors personnel or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules. May coordinate with Drivers/Vehicle Maintenance employees when repairs and/or service maintenance is required on trucks. Responsible for adhering to safety processes and protocols. All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.Required Skills:
0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required. High School diploma/GED preferred.- Warehouse experience preferred.
- Transportation experience preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar required.
- Efficient, well organized and detail oriented with a proven track record of problem-solving.
