Job Description
We are looking for a Dispatcher to coordinate the daily movement of personnel, vehicles, and equipment for a busy construction operation in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This on-site position plays an important role in keeping field activity organized, on schedule, and aligned with customer expectations. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing shifting priorities, communicating across multiple teams, and maintaining accurate operational records in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily assignments for operators, drivers, trucks, and equipment to support jobsite needs efficiently.
- Track active jobs throughout the day and revise schedules quickly when timing, site conditions, or priorities change.
- Serve as a central point of communication for customers, field personnel, and internal departments regarding schedules and job progress.
- Maintain complete and accurate dispatch records, including job details, equipment usage, and service activity.
- Partner with operations, safety, and maintenance teams to confirm equipment availability and readiness before deployment.
- Organize route planning and site logistics to improve productivity and support timely job completion.
- Monitor permit requirements, access instructions, and related documentation needed for work at customer locations.
- Respond promptly to urgent requests, schedule disruptions, and last-minute adjustments while minimizing operational delays.
- Support administrative and billing processes by ensuring work orders and dispatch information are accurate and fully documented.
- At least 2 years of experience in dispatching, scheduling, or logistics coordination, ideally within construction, trucking, crane services, or heavy equipment environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, crews, and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve problems in a time-sensitive setting.
- Experience coordinating with drivers, equipment operators, or field-based teams is preferred.
- Proficiency with dispatch software, scheduling platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with construction workflows, permit coordination, or equipment logistics is an advantage.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational ability, and a proactive sense of urgency.
