Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our transportation team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the efficient movement of freight and vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups while maintaining seamless communication across multiple departments. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help optimize our logistics operations, support customer satisfaction, and uphold compliance with transportation regulations. Responsibilities Manage daily dispatching activities for freight and vehicle movements using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and internal communication channels to schedule pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations and optimize routing strategies for efficiency and safety Ensure adherence to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations by maintaining proper documentation, hours of service logs, and safety protocols Communicate effectively with customers regarding shipment status, delivery times, and any issues that arise during transit Support shipping & receiving operations by organizing freight movement schedules and managing related logistics documentation Qualifications Proven experience in transportation planning, road transportation operations, or logistics coordination Strong knowledge of transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms Familiarity with vehicle dispatch software and freight tracking tools like GPS and GIS technologies Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Effective communication skills for phone call management, customer service, and internal collaboration Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry and analysis tasks Understanding of DOT regulations, shipping & receiving procedures, and safety standards in transportation operations Ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally while demonstrating strong phone etiquette Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data for route optimization and operational improvements Join us as a Dispatcher where your organizational prowess and communication skills will keep our supply chain moving smoothly!
