Job Description

PDT, Inc. is hiring a Part-Time Dispatcher to support our FedEx Linehaul operation. We run both home-daily solo linehaul and OTR teams out of three terminals in two states. This role is critical to keeping our drivers moving safely, efficiently, and on time. You will work closely with other dispatchers, company leadership, station management, and our team of drivers to ensure daily linehaul operations run smoothly. Role Details Part-Time, remote position (living in or near Savannah required for occasional in-person meeting) 11pm - 11am shift, both weekend days required, typically 3-4 days weekly Support dispatch for solo linehaul drivers on PM/overnight runs and teams who are
OTR 24/7
Communicate with drivers in real time to address routing, delays, breakdowns, and other issues
Pay & Benefits Pay:
starting at $200 per day, with potential to increase to $250 Growth potential for full-time work (once FT, health benefits with 50% employer contribution available from day one and PTO available after 6 months) Minimum Requirements Prior dispatch, load planning, or operations coordination experience preferred (linehaul/CDL environment strongly preferred) Strong communication skills and ability to de-escalate tense situations Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance tracking High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drivers and routes at once Comfortable working independently while supporting a distributed team Must be organized, dependable, and solution-oriented Must be speedy and professional in response time to messages and calls Responsibilities Act as the main point of contact for drivers during scheduled shifts and for general questions when drivers are between shifts Monitor route progress and proactively address issues such as weather delays, traffic, or breakdowns Track and confirm driver check-ins, departures, and arrivals Ensure drivers remain compliant with DOT hours-of-service and FedEx safety standards Coordinate with company and FedEx station management to resolve scheduling or operational conflicts Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all routes and driver interactions
