The Project Officer II coordinates the activities of the Consolidated Dispatch Board, the Board Chairman, Board Committees, User Groups, and Work Groups and provides significant support in implementing Board/CDC projects and initiatives for the Consolidated Dispatch 911 Center. The incumbent is often involved in direct communications/coordination with 911 Center Director and Deputy Director to obtain guidance on projects and initiatives.

- Performs all responsibilities of Project Officer I as appropriate or assigned.
- Provides supervision, support, and leadership for the Project Officer I.
- Oversees the coordination of the Consolidated Dispatch Board, the Board Chairman, Board Committees, User Groups, and Work Groups under the direction of the Director and Deputy Director.
- Collaborates with multi-agency and multi-jurisdictional work groups and user groups in developing specific operational or administrative recommendations.
- Ensures agreements and contracts necessary to implement initiatives are developed, reviewed, and executed by all relevant parties.
- Assists the Consolidated 911 Center Accountant in grant-related activities.
- Participates in all departmental activations.
- Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems.
- Performs other duties or assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.
- Pursuant to the South Carolina Criminal Justice Information System guidelines, incumbent must be no less than eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be a United States citizen, permanent resident, or possess an Employment Authorization Document (EAD).
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field of study. Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years or more of work-related experience. This should include progressively responsible professional operational positions at large private sector or comparably sized public sector organizations.
- Must have experience with contract negotiations, working with legal counsel and managing large public meetings, preferably in public safety.
- Must have no felony convictions. Misdemeanors will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Must pass a background investigation which will include driving record, employment history, employment, education and training verification, criminal history, illegal conduct (drug use, etc.), and reference check.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and psychological evaluation.
- Must successfully complete Level IV CJIS Security Awareness Training within six (6) months of hire date and maintain the certification.
- Must possess or obtain the following NIMS certifications 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 or obtain within six (6) months of hire date.
- Must possess a valid SC Driver's License (or obtain within three (3) months of hire) and meet the requirements of the County's motor vehicle policy.
