Job Description
Dispatcher $18/hr | Spartanburg, SC | Onsite | Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM A Career Opportunity in Transportation & Client Service A premier transportation company in Spartanburg is seeking a polished, dependable, and highly organized Dispatcher to coordinate charter transportation and provide exceptional service to clients and drivers. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, coordinating logistics, and creating a seamless customer experience. You'll serve as a key point of contact between clients, drivers, and management, making sure every trip is carefully planned, properly communicated, and executed smoothly from start to finish. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their professionalism and understands that in a premium transportation environment, the details and the way you communicate matter.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate upcoming charter trips and ensure all details are accurate and organized
- Schedule and assign drivers based on availability, experience, customer needs, and DOT requirements
- Communicate professionally with drivers, customers, and management regarding schedules and trip updates
- Review itineraries, customer information, and transportation requirements
- Prepare and distribute driver paperwork and trip documentation
- Monitor trips and help resolve scheduling or operational issues as they arise
- Collect and process completed trip paperwork
- Assist with driver recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training
- Coordinate quarterly driver meetings and safety updates
- Help ensure operations remain compliant with DOT regulations and company policies
- Work closely with management and other departments to keep daily operations running smoothly
Qualifications:
- Professional, polished communication style and the ability to interact comfortably with a wide range of clients and personalities
- Strong customer service instincts and a genuine desire to provide a positive experience
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple schedules, priorities, and moving pieces at once
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
