We are looking for a dependable, highly organized Dispatcher to help manage our daily field service operation. This is more than putting appointments on a calendar. The Dispatcher helps own the service board, coordinate technicians, manage routes, respond to schedule changes, and protect technician productivity. We are looking for someone who thinks ahead, stays calm under pressure, solves problems, communicates clearly, and takes ownership. The right person will have an opportunity to grow with ABA as we continue adding technicians and expanding into new markets. Duties Manage and monitor the live technician schedule throughout the service day. Assign jobs based on technician location, skill level, workload, job requirements, and customer availability. Build efficient technician routes while reducing unnecessary drive time and backtracking. Review the upcoming schedule for conflicts, gaps, overloaded technicians, or jobs that may not be ready. Monitor technician progress throughout the day and identify technicians running early or behind schedule. Respond quickly to cancellations, delays, customer availability issues, technician call-outs, and other changes. Recover open schedule capacity by coordinating available jobs and working with the Customer Service team to fill openings. Help protect productive technician capacity and minimize avoidable idle time. Prioritize service calls according to company scheduling standards, customer urgency, technician availability, geography, and job readiness. Help maintain ABA's scheduling priorities between COD and warranty service work. Identify emergency and high-priority calls and coordinate appropriate scheduling or escalation. Verify that return visits and parts-dependent appointments are ready before technicians are dispatched. Avoid scheduling warranty return visits before required parts are available. Communicate schedule changes clearly and quickly to technicians and appropriate office team members. Coordinate closely with Customer Service, Parts, technicians, and the Service Manager. Maintain accurate technician assignments, appointment information, job statuses, and dispatch notes in company systems. Learn technician strengths, experience levels, territories, and appliance-service capabilities to improve job assignments. Help prevent unnecessary technician trips caused by incomplete information, missing parts, scheduling errors, or customer availability issues. Escalate field problems appropriately when management involvement is required. Maintain a calm, professional, and organized approach during high-volume or rapidly changing service days. Follow company policies, dispatch procedures, checklists, communication standards, and performance expectations. What Success Looks Like At ABA, we believe strong performance should be clear and measurable. The Dispatcher will help ABA improve outcomes such as: Strong technician schedule utilization. High schedule fill rate. Productive technician days. Efficient routing and reduced unnecessary drive time. Fast recovery of cancellations and open appointment capacity. Accurate job assignments and appointment information. Fewer preventable scheduling errors. Fewer unnecessary technician trips. Jobs being properly ready before technicians are dispatched. Fast response to issues affecting technicians in the field. Clear communication between technicians and the office. Consistent achievement of ABA's daily service and productivity goals. The Dispatcher is not personally responsible for every company result, but this position has a significant influence on technician productivity, customer experience, completed jobs, and revenue. Experience We are looking for candidates with experience in one or more of the following: Dispatching. Scheduling. Field-service coordination. Route coordination. Logistics. Customer service. Call center operations. Service coordination. Transportation or delivery operations. Office operations. Administrative coordination. Experience supporting technicians, drivers, installers, maintenance employees, field service workers, or another mobile workforce is strongly preferred. Experience in industries such as appliance repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, home services, automotive service, towing, transportation, healthcare scheduling, property maintenance, or other service businesses is a plus.
The Right Candidate Should Be:

A strong problem-solver. Comfortable making decisions within established company guidelines. Proactive rather than reactive. Able to think several steps ahead. Interested in learning the appliance repair service process. Interested in growing with the company long-term. Previous appliance repair experience is not required . Experience with Service Fusion, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, Jobber, dispatch software, CRM systems, routing software, or similar field-service technology is preferred but not required. Must be able to pass applicable background and pre-employment requirements. Compensation & Benefits Recommended Indeed range: $16.00-$24.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications. Full-time position. Performance and advancement opportunities. Paid time off after eligibility requirements are met. Paid holidays. Ongoing Dispatch, customer service, appliance-service, and operational training. Clear performance expectations and coaching. Family-oriented work environment. Team appreciation events and company activities. Opportunities for increased responsibility as ABA grows. Discounted service calls on personal household appliances. Career Growth At Absolute Best Appliance, we believe in promoting from within and developing people who want to grow with the company long-term. We are not hiring a Dispatcher simply to solve today's scheduling needs. We are building a Dispatch Department that can grow alongside our technician team and support ABA as we expand into additional territories and future locations. Growth is based on demonstrated performance, reliability, ownership, operational judgment, communication, leadership, ability to manage increasing technician capacity, and the ability to help improve the department. As ABA expands throughout Middle Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and future markets, the people who help us build strong systems today may have the opportunity to become our future leaders. Who We Are Looking For The strongest candidate may not necessarily be the person with the most years of Dispatch experience. We are looking for someone whose past performance demonstrates that they can become the kind of person we can trust to say: "I've got the board." That means someone who notices problems before they become emergencies, protects technician time, keeps information accurate, communicates clearly, makes good decisions, accepts coaching, and takes ownership of getting the service day across the finish line. If you are looking for more than just another office job and want to build a career with a growing service company that values excellence, accountability, teamwork, customer service, continuous improvement, and personal growth , we encourage you to apply.
