Day-to-day:
Identify, assign, and dispatch available loads to drivers, ensuring that freight is safely picked up and delivered as promised. Provide clear verbal instructions to drivers regarding their load assignment including but not limited to delivery time, and load special instructions Place driver on ready board, read appropriate messages, take appropriate action according to messages Ensure information entered in TMS system is accurate and aligns with information on BOL, and any discrepancies are communicated and documented Receives and accurately enters load information on the TMS system to build a load Maintain open clear communication with all co-workers.
Skills:
Knowledge of FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian geography Knowledge of Windows-based software
