Job Description

We are looking for a Dispatcher to support safety operations in Midtown Memphis, Tennessee. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can remain calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The person in this role will help coordinate emergency and routine communications, maintain accurate records, and support parking program administration while working closely with staff and student workers. Reliability, sound judgment, and a strong service mindset are essential for success in this position.
Schedule:
1. Monday & Tuesday's- Off Day2. Wednesday & Thursday's- 7am-3pm3. Friday's-12pm-8pm4. Saturday & Sunday's-3pm-11pm
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate emergency, non-emergency, and routine communications through 911 systems and radio channels with accuracy and urgency.
  • Oversee key parking program activities, including decal distribution, parking record updates, and appeal tracking.
  • Prepare and maintain dispatch logs, incident documentation, reports, and department files in accordance with campus policies and confidentiality standards.
  • Monitor alarms, incoming calls, and office activity to identify unusual situations and respond appropriately.
  • Enter and update information within computer-aided dispatch and other records systems to support daily operations.
  • Help maintain departmental equipment and supplies to ensure the office remains operational and organized.
  • Collaborate regularly with student workers and provide day-to-day coordination in support of departmental tasks.
  • Participate in assigned training, workshops, and required annual security-related learning to maintain readiness.
  • Report to work dependably as essential personnel, including during severe weather or campus closures when needed.
