This role monitors load execution, identifies service risks, and facilitates communication between drivers, customers, dispatch staff, and internal teams to maintain on-time performance. The Dispatcher also monitors active loads, protects key appointment windows, and supports smooth handoffs between dispatch shifts. Responsibilities Dispatch drivers and coordinate daily routes and schedules Communicate with drivers regarding load details, routes, and delivery updates Monitor active loads and driver progress throughout the shift to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries. Track load milestones including driver check-ins, pickup times, and delivery appointments. Identify delays or service risks early and coordinate solutions with customers and drivers. Assist with problem solving and scheduling adjustments as needed Document key updates and unresolved issues to ensure smooth transition between dispatch shifts. Qualifications Previous dispatch, trucking or logistics experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to monitor multiple loads and priorities simultaneously Experience with dispatch software or TMS preferred Basic computer skills, including email and spreadsheets. Knowledge of trucking operations, HOS regulations or logistics workflow is a plus Professional, dependable work ethic Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for this role due to the time-sensitive nature of dispatch operations.
