This is an Operations position within NWPX Park responsible for supervising the activities associated with Delivery including coordinating inbound and outbound shipments. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, management and direction of delivery staff, compliance with government regulations and safety and security of the delivery department . Essential Functions & Major Responsibilities Supervises the daily work and safety of Delivery Associates, including adherence to standard operating procedures, adherence to planned routes, tracking of key metrics, coaching through performance issues, behavior modification counseling as per company guidelines and providing safe and efficient customer service. Works closely with Plant Manager, Yard Supervisor, Sales, and Production to ensure proper distribution of sales orders. Oversee the proper selection and utilization of company assets in support of the Delivery department and ensures that the required technologies are installed and working properly. Schedule and dispatch in-house trucks and outside haulers to distribute deliveries in a safe and timely manner. Arrange shipments by examining destination, route, rate, and delivery time along with checking stock to determine adequate inventory levels, anticipating delivery requirements, and optimizing loads to streamline deliveries and reduce costs. Verifies items shipped by matching bills of lading, reconciling quantities, and noting discrepancies. Keeps customers informed by forwarding notice of item availability, shipment date and method, and current status; answering questions. Hold and attend weekly Dispatch meetings to discuss revenue, loads, upcoming projects, and satellite location needs or concerns. Ensures Delivery Associate compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, OSHA, DMV, DPS, etc.) to ensure traffic law and company policy adherence and to make sure electronic logs are kept current, accurate, and in compliance. Ensure Driver files are DOT compliant by keeping the following current: Proof of current CDL licensing with the appropriate endorsements Their current Medical Examiner's Certificate (or a copy) Proof of valid insurance Three years' worth of Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) Employment application Pre-employment and other drug test records (and current status if there were positive results) Proof of mandatory entry-level training Monitor vehicle maintenance alerts on ELDS system and comply and enforce company Vehicle Maintenance Plan policy. Monitor driver safety violations on ELDS system and comply with and enforce company Disciplinary Actions for Drivers policy. Report KPIs that shows weekly revenue, load counts, on-time delivery, and other logistic metrics Provide exceptional customer service for order placement via email, phone or with walk in customers Coordinates efforts with the Safety department to aid in training and accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections. Protects organization reputation by keeping pricing, promotion, purchase order, and credit-limit information confidential Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities Comply with all NWPX Park policies, procedures and guidelines Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Accomplished interpersonal leadership skills and emotional intelligence with all levels of people. Proficient organizational skills and attention to detail. Exceptional time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to function well in a fast-paced, ever changing and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Knowledge of safety practices/procedures within this industry Excellent listening, verbal, reading, and writing communication skills Ability to be a contributing, positive team member Able to read, write and speak in English language. Bilingual preferred, but not required Ability to travel up to 25% to visit the other locations Education/Experience Associates or Bachelor's degree in Transportation or Logistics preferred Minimum 3-5 years of Dispatch experience in Precast Manufacturing preferred Minimum 3-5 years of supervisor experience leading a team of 5 or more Minimum of 1 year of DOT experience 6-Sigma is a plus SAP is preferredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
