A dispatcher, or driver dispatcher, will act as a liaison between drivers and customers in providing routing/ rerouting of jobs in order to insure deliveries are done and on time. The best dispatchers are those who are problem solvers that are genuinely excited to exceed customer expectations. They work with a sense of urgency, while remaining calm under pressure and are able to remain focused on the task at hand. Customer service is also a big part of being an effective dispatcher. Taking orders when it is necessary and handling any issues that might arise due to dispatching or driver error. The goal is to ensure excellent service standards by meeting delivery drop times, which in turn, will help accelerate the growth we see as a company. Responsibilities Managing and continuous routing of 60+ independent contractors(drivers) Provide drivers with needed information to successfully complete deliveries on time and in a professional manner Take incoming orders and questions on deliveries Make outbound calls to customers over a variety of reasons Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution Going the extra mile to engage and update customers on deliveries Some warehouse loading and unloading of product with the possibility of an expanded role Skills Local hot shot dispatching experience is preferred Datatrac/LADS software experience is preferred Proven customer support experience Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening Customer orientation and ability to respond to different types of personalities Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively High school degree is required
