The dispatcher receives emergency and nonemergency calls, gathers essential information, and sends the appropriate sheriffs deputies or other responders. This role requires calm judgment, clear communication, and accurate documentation during fast-moving situations. Key responsibilities Answer 911 and nonemergency calls and assess the nature and priority of each request. Dispatch deputies and coordinate with fire, emergency medical services, and other agencies when needed. Monitor radio traffic, track responder locations and status, and relay updates. Enter and maintain accurate call records in the computer-aided dispatch system. Provide callers with approved instructions while responders are on the way. Handle sensitive information confidentially and follow office procedures.
