VA Transport LLC is seeking a dependable, organized, and professional Office Dispatcher to join our transportation operations team. VA Transport provides Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services throughout Virginia. The Dispatcher will play an important role in coordinating daily trips, communicating with drivers, monitoring transportation schedules, and helping ensure members are picked up and dropped off safely and on time. We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced office environment, communicate professionally, solve problems quickly, and manage multiple drivers and trips at the same time. Responsibilities Dispatch drivers to scheduled medical transportation trips Assign and reassign trips based on driver location and availability Monitor drivers and daily trip progress Confirm pickups and drop-offs are completed on time Communicate with drivers throughout their shifts Contact members when necessary regarding pickup information Handle last-minute trips, cancellations, no-shows, and schedule changes Coordinate transportation with facilities, medical offices, hospitals, dialysis centers, and other locations Monitor standing-order transportation Review daily schedules and identify potential scheduling problems Assist drivers with trip information and addresses Document transportation issues and incidents Communicate professionally with transportation brokers and dispatch departments Maintain accurate trip and driver records Report driver delays, member complaints, accidents, and other issues to management Help maximize driver routes while reducing unnecessary mileage and downtime Assist with incoming office telephone calls Perform general office and administrative duties as needed Qualifications Strong communication and customer-service skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Comfortable working with computers, dispatch software, GPS/maps, email, and telephone systems Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with scheduling problems Ability to manage multiple drivers and transportation requests simultaneously Reliable and punctual Strong attention to detail Able to work independently and as part of a team High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is preferred but not required: NEMT dispatching Medical transportation Taxi or transportation dispatching Logistics Fleet management Medicaid transportation Customer service Call center operations Scheduling Candidates with experience working with Modivcare, MTM, Access2Care, MediDrive, transportation brokers, Medicaid transportation, or NEMT operations are strongly encouraged to apply.
