A Dispatcher will work to prioritize trucking and shipping routes to all Dunn Lumber locations, regularly communicate with our Delivery Drivers about workflow, and stay up-to-date on the latest regulations regarding trucking and the Department of Transportation. A fully trained Dispatcher can uphold The Legacy of Trust daily by delivering materials reliably, maintaining a clean and organized vehicle, and building trust with customers and coworkers through dependable service and attention to detail. Work Schedule Unlike other retail organizations, Dunn employees get fixed and predictable schedules so they can plan their lives with confidence, enjoy work-life balance, and count on consistent hours each week. This position is currently hiring for the following schedule(s): Monday
  • Friday, 7:00am
  • 3:30pm Monday
  • Friday, 9:15am
  • 5:45pm
Please Note:
Upon hire, all employees complete two-week training period, at our Bellevue or Shoreline locations. For a new hire's first two weeks they work a training schedule of Monday
  • Friday, 8:00am
  • 4:00pm.
This training is mandatory, and employees receive daily stipends to offset travel expenses. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions: Communicating workflow and workflow changes to drivers Optimizing driver routes to maximize trucking efficiency Maintaining a current understanding of trucking regulations Maintaining a current understanding of DOT regulations Monitoring logistics and data reporting Monitoring email and the ability to use it as a primary communication tool Communicating with leadership teams, sales teams, and other Dunn Lumber departments to solve dispatch-related issues and questions Monitoring and upkeep of the Sales Dashboard in Bistrack Other duties as assigned
Previous Experience:
Experience in Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with the functions of BisTrack, or a similar POS (point-of-sale) system, is preferred.
Education, Certificates, or Licenses:
Must have some familiarity with traffic safety and driving laws in Washington. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Technical/Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic competency with computers including the ability to enter login credential information, punch in and out for work, and this position may also require ability to perform basic math, such as counting, fractions, addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Employee also needs to understand and be able to successfully use basic computer programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Supervisor Responsibility :
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 5 pounds. this job is performed at a sit-to-stand desk and has no other physical demands.
