Job Description

Responsible for overseeing the University's emergency management operations and Public Safety technology systems. Develops emergency preparedness plans, coordinates response efforts and training, ensures regulatory compliance, and manages emergency communications. Administers and maintains Public Safety systems, including surveillance, access control, alarms, radios, and dispatch technology, while coordinating with internal departments, external agencies, and vendors.

Emergency Management & Operations Develop and maintain University emergency operations, continuity, and hazard mitigation plans. Lead emergency response, drills, exercises, and preparedness training. Coordinate emergency planning and response with CPD, CFD, CEMA, IEMA, and other agencies. Ensure compliance with Clery Act, HEA, OSHA, and applicable state requirements. Manage campus emergency notification systems and communications. Public Safety Technology & Systems Administration Administer surveillance, access control, alarms, emergency phones, radio, and dispatch/CAD systems. Oversee system maintenance, security, user access, licensing, troubleshooting, and vendor support. Maintain and audit system records and data for investigations and compliance. Evaluate new Public Safety technologies and coordinate implementation with IT, Facilities, and vendors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Public Safety, or a related field. Equivalent years if experience will be considered.
  • Some experience and/or exposure in emergency management, public safety, law enforcement, or campus safety.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on technical experience administering and troubleshooting physical security systems.
