All applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of the specialized experience at the GS-11 level (ZA-II at NIST).Specialized experience is described as experience in supporting emergency response program management, contingency plan development, participation in exercises and training, and coordination of disaster response and continuity of operations efforts.

All applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of the specialized experience at the GS-13 level (ZA-III at NIST). Specialized experience is described as experience in leading emergency response, coordination, and execution, managing preparedness training, conducting threat analyses for continuity of operations, and providing briefings on emergency plans and policies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
